| I've abandoned my xanga and need to do writing for the day, so today's the day to update! It sure beats writing an essay on whatever it was I read about in history today. Ugh, I don't like history! But as you may know, i've been doing this Graphic Arts class at the local Tech school. That started on the first day of school and is where my time is dedicated to for about three hours a day Monday through Friday. It really is a great way to start off the day. What more could I ask than to have a class every school day devoted to art!! It's great! I love it, and have gotten to know some awesome people! I feel like this past while since i've posted last so much has happened. After changing churches and finally finding a place that we like i've learned SOOOO Much! The Lord has so much to teach me and I think i'm finally trying to learn at least some of it. This has been a good experience for me and the family in general and i've felt the Lord working in me greatly! Last night at youth group it was excelant! Everytime time that this leader speaks it's just like there's something there that i've been thinking about or that applies directly to me, and it's really awesome! I absolutly love this church and find that my walk in the Lord is trying to grow to. Last night, though, he was saying how we need to move on from "watching Mr. Rodgers and Blues Clues" and get on with what we are supposed to learn to grow more. He was also saying how there are just some things that can consume our minds when we put that in it all the time. This is very much to me as I know I used to think that the music I listened to wouldn't really affect me so much, but really, when I listen to some music exessivelly that's what I think about. Not that I have a problem with secular music, cause I really love it, but I think there has to be a good ballance between what I listen to and to make sure that I don't have anything push the Lord away in my life. So I decided to chalange myeself this week to listen to all Christian music and just get the Lord in my head. I've decided that i'll let myself listen to 2 secular songs each day just cause I know i'll end up slipping if I don't do that and with guitar and all it just works better. So just for the week a friend and I are gonna do this. Let me tell you it's NOT easy...and this is day one! Lol On Wednesday will be my first practice for the church band. That should be fun! OH! speaking of guitar, I am no longer taking lessons. So it's a bit of a change, but i'm used to it and it's compleetly fine now. Thank goodness for the Fender Forum and guitar tab! This Saturday's pretty exciting too, cause it's the tourniment, and for the first time in a few years i'm going to compeete. I was going to just do forms but since you don't pay any extra to do sparing as well I suppose I'll do that too. I'll probably loose...but..ok! i need to keep a more positive outlook on it cause if I go in defeated, defeated I will be. So HOPEFULLY i'll do well! I'm pretty excited about forms tho! I'm combining two of them, doign one right after the other. All together it will be 75 movements, which is not the shortest thing! I just need to remember to drink water, which is a weakness of mine. I forget to drink water before karate class and then get dehydrated durring it. NOT a good thing! Sooo as long as I remember that and do my best, all will be well!! :) Other things in my life include....not too much I guess...except mowing! That's slowing down for the year. Thank goodness. But one of these days i'll need to get a job. My families been telling me recently that I've got to get one cause I have too many "needs" and the list of things that I need to get just keeps getting bigger. So we'll see how that goes. Speaking of jobs and mowing and all, the lawns becon me. so I must go! so long! | | |
| This must be speedy 'cause i'll be picked up to babysit really soon. But life has been good. I'm out of Camp K mode and back into the swing of "normal" life...whatever that may be! haha I went over to a friends house the otehr day cause all of her siblings were at camp and so she's alone this week. We walked down to the park in the rain, and on the way up we stopped at DQ. I tried a bite of her Marshamallow milkshake, which surprisingly wasn't gross! haha It had a bit of a birthday cake taste to it.... So lately, my mom has been like "Kate, with all of your "needs" lately, you'll need to try and find a job" so i've been thinking it may be fun to work at Waffle Shop or something. So at my friends house, she was saying that recently she's been thinking that it'd be fun to get a job at teh Waffle Shop! haha So maybe something could work out...who knows...... We went to see the Dark Knight! AH! It's AMAZING! You have to see it if you haven't already! It was so good!!!! Babysitting awaits me, so I should get downstairs soon so I don't keep my ride waiting...he should be here fairly soon. Now, lets just hope this post will actually work unlike the other one that I wrote like 5 minutes ago... Kate <3 | | |
| ok ok...yeah, the name is rather lame...and I seem to be in a rhyming mood lately! No, this is not entirely intentional. That's all besides the point, though. I had such an amazing week! I'm ready to go back! Although that will have to wait untill next year. But I've gotten to know some pretty awesome kids and staff people! One of the staff girls was from Rawanda(sp?) and another was from Kenya! We had such fun with "my sisto's, eh!" haha I also knew a bunch of people who were there...including a few of you who are possibly reading this. You guys are all awesome!!! I think after tubing down the one local creek with some youth group friends I finally got out of PA mood and I'm moving into reality of life back in Bellefonte. It was so nice to finally "sleep in" thismorning! Although sleeping in consisted of getting to sleep around 11:30ish and waking up at 8:00. But compared to waking up at 6-6:30 everyday, that was just fine and dandy!!! Yesterday ML and I were very tired, thus, we were very very giddy!!!! I'm not the type of person to get grouchy too much, although i'm more of the giddy person who will just about laugh at anything! haha I pitty you who had to witness this! One of the most amazing parts of the week, I must say, would probably be Thursday night. We watched a movie by Louie Giglio and sat and star gazed while we watched it. He was talking on just how big God is, and the movie made you catch a glimps of how great God is and how small we are. Just that he would come to this Earth for US is fanominal!!! This week was just amazing! I've had my groups of kids that I hung out with a lot...not that I didn't get a little time with a bunch of them, but there where those who I got to spend a lot of time with! There was some pretty fun kids!!! One thought he was all that and more....he mad the week certainly interesting! Just wouldn't be the same without him! haha One was a lefty!! :) so everytime we would see each other we would shake hands left handed! lol and OH! the Jonas brothers....and Irvan!! There were these girls who played that they were the Jonas Brothers all week, and there was a forth girl who needed to be someone, so they made up a new character. Yep, that would be Irvan! Needless to say, I will definetly miss everyone, although it is nice to be home. I just wish the week hadn't ended this quick...I am certainly looking forward to spending another week there next year! I hope you all had an awesome week! Kate <3 | | |

| yep! that's me! I took this quiz, and my family agrees that it kinda does suit me! gotta love it! the link didnt' like me, but this is what it said Plain 'ol Cup of Joe But don't think plain - instead think, uncomplicated You're a low maintenance kind of girl... who can hang with the guys Down to earth, easy going, and fun! Yup, that's you: the friend everyone invites. And your dependable too. Both for a laugh and a sympathetic ear. see, aren't you glad to be my friend?? haha JK!! JK!!!! Anyway, today is Meg's birthday so my aunt and cousins are coming from like the suburbs of Philly to visit 'till sometime tomorrow. They'll be ariving sometime in the near future. Then on Saturday we'll have her party. We always do it on the day of the 4th of July parade! We usually have family over and we'll all go swiming and stuff. And we often have friends come over to watch the parade on our porch...and sometimes we find friends that we didn't even know we had! Or rather, they find us! haha But it's fun! Ya know, I realized, I've probably posted more in the past few days than I have in the past month or so! I guess with the summer here it helps! No more school to worry about or anything, so it gives me the free time to do the fun stuff in life. It was pretty cool cause the other day I was thinking about the Wagners, and it so happened that later on that night they called! They're in Goroka now, and I think they'll be there for a little while. So it was good to hear their voices again. I even almost made it through the conversation without a tear...almost! haha I talked to Ab and was fine, talked to Hope, did well too. Then their minutes ran out. But Amy called back and I talked to her and a couple tears came...ah well! :P I finally get to go to karate today!!!! See, I haven't been there since like 2 Friday's ago! That is very odd for me! I usually make it about 4-6 times a week, and to not be there for a whole week is just wierd. But it's good now! I'll be able to go for my usual... 2 classes today, and then later tonight I should be able to go again. Well, my step grandma just got photoshop and doesn't quite know how to work it. It is a rather complicated program for those of you who are unfirmilliar with it! If you don't have a ton of time to dink around with it or someone to teach it to you it's just too complicated! So i'm going to go to their house from Thursday-Friday and show them how it works. It should be fun! OH YEAH!! Band practice starts this Friday!! Well, we're gonna figure out what songs we're doing and stuff! Since we have a girl singer I was asked to try and find some Christian bands with girl singers. So here's who I found. Fireflight They're really awesome!! Not sure what songs we'll do, but I really like the song from the link, and another one called "Star of the Show." (I really like their singers hair too! That would be fun!) So we'll see what the singer and bassist thinks of their music. I think the bassist won't be there on Friday, though, but this band was at creation, and so was she so she'll probably know who they are. Karate is coming up in just a little bit, so i'll get movin on! | | |
